Pandhayam Review
Cast: Nithin Satya, Sindhu Tulani, Prakash Raj, Radhika, Vijay and others
Music: Vijay Anthony
Direction: SA Chandrasheker
The film Pandhayam has featured a typical subject on love which has everything in it, but still lacks some substance when the story ends. Nithin Satya, who is well known for his selective nature on film subjects, has done his role well. But the script needed some thing extra in order to expose the acting skills of Nithin.
Story
Nithin Satya grows as a mischievous boy in his house. Due to some initial pampering he receives from his parents he becomes an intolerable child with his childish behavior. So, Nithin’s father decides to enroll him in a boarding school in order to inculcate some disciplined and well manners in Nithin. As said Nithin’s gets enrolled in a boarding school and a friend of him also enrolls himself in the same school to accompany Nithin. The duo grows up and the two friends cement their friendship into an everlasting companionship.
After the completion of their school studies, Nithin and his friend join a college and there the troubles starts .Incidentally, Nithin’s friend falls in love with a girl who happens to be the sister of Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj is a politician by profession and is well known for his notorious deeds.
One day, Prakash Raj discovers that his sister is in love with a boy and without giving a second though kills his sister and her lover brutally.
Nithin comes to know about the killing and decides to take revenge on Prakash Raj. He plans out a way to take the revenge. Nithin, as a good person enters the house of Prakash Raj and hatches a plan o fall in love with Prakash Raj’s second sister. Sindhu Tulani happens to be the second sister of Prakash Raj.
Prakash Raj initially adores Nithin, but then on discovers that his second sister is in love with Nithin. He latter on discovers the truth that Nithin is taking revenge of his friends death.
Then Prakash Raj thinks to kill Nithin. He attempts to murder Nithin. What happens next is the suspense? With Prakash Raj Succeed, what is the climax are the suspense elements which had to be seen on the silver screen.
Performances
Nithin till date has done the films which have some captivating elements in the movie. But his latest release ‘Pandhayam’ lacks the luster. But still the action and the dancing skills of Nithin are well exposed in this movie.
Prakash Raj as usual has proved that he can regenerate the interest in the audience with his impeccable acting. As a politician, brother, husband and Gunda he is apt for the character of the villain.
Radhika as an Indian Pativratha sees everything, but remains mum over many issues. She plays the character of an obedient wife to Prakash Raj.
Sindhu Tulani is the glam doll in this film. She looks glamorous in tow songs and her transformation in a sex doll is superb in her recent films.
SA Chandrasheker has completed 66 films which includes Pandhayam at the fag end. But though his screenplay is good, the script of this film lacks substance. The same old Thali sentiment, brother sister relationship and a villainous character are being projected in this film. There is nothing news in the plot and most of the scenes are predictable.
Music by Vijay is average and a song which goes as “Kaadal Theeviranvaadi…….” is appluadable. The rest of the songs are average or below average.
On the whole there is nothing new in this film and can be ignored.
Better luck next time Nithin!
